Cyber Security

Welcome to my cybersecurity page. You might wonder what this has to do with firearms training.
Honestly, not much directly—but quite a bit when you step back and look at the bigger picture.

Security isn’t confined to one domain. Whether you’re browsing the internet or carrying a firearm for protection, true security is a mindset. It’s about constant awareness, preparation, and staying ahead of threats in every environment.

Military and tactical communities have a phrase that sums it up perfectly:
“Keep your head on a swivel.” That’s exactly the mentality I want to encourage here.

This page is dedicated to helping you build well-rounded awareness—strengthening both your digital security habits and your overall personal security outlook.

Basic Cybersecurity Needs

  • Modem: usually supplied by the internet service provider (ISP). You can usually buy your own if you have special requirements.
  • Firewall:
    • Those supplied by the ISP for a rental cost are typically very basic and provide the absolute minimum functionality.
    • Third party firewalls can offer more security and better features, and will usually be paid for after a year or so.
    • Avoid TP-Link, many security concerns. CNET article on TP-Link.
  • Antivirus/malware software:
